1 When my baby crosses an age stage, what rule governs that week's recipe assignment?

The system always uses your baby's actual age on the Monday of that ISO week as the sole basis for the week's recipe assignment. This design completely avoids mid-week disruption caused by a birthday — for example, if your baby turns 6 months old on a Wednesday, that week still follows the 4–6M specification, and only the following Monday officially upgrades to the 6–8M stage, keeping every week's plan clean, consistent, and predictable.

2 If I reinstall the App or switch phones, will my meal-prep history be lost?

Not at all! We fully adopt Apple's native SwiftData + CloudKit. All baby data, plan history, and preference statistics are encrypted and stored in your personal iCloud account, safeguarded by Apple's enterprise-grade infrastructure.

💡 As long as you sign in with the same Apple ID, your data syncs back automatically in the background. After switching phones or reinstalling the App, wait a moment and all your records will be restored.

3 If I update my baby's allergen settings, will the already-generated menu change?

Yes — and it takes effect immediately. When you update allergen settings, the system instantly activates a "safety guard" that dynamically scans every uncompleted meal from today onward in the current week.

  • 🔍 Scans every recipe from today through Sunday that hasn't been marked "finished"
  • 🚫 Automatically removes recipes containing the newly added allergen
  • Fills in a brand-new, compliant replacement recipe from the safe-ingredient pool

This mechanism ensures your baby's allergen protection takes effect immediately after setup, leaving no gaps.

4 Can I add, remove, or edit dishes — including for past weeks?

Yes. Every week — the current week, past weeks, and the next-week preview — lets you freely adjust the menu: tap a dish's menu to swap or delete it, or use "Add a Dish" to append one. You can also backfill reactions for past days, so your growth records stay complete.

  • 🗂️ Editing a past week only updates that week — it never disturbs the current week's plan.
  • 📊 The "3 dislikes → permanently blocked" preference learning still draws on your real reports, so backfilling history keeps future recommendations accurate.
5 What does the "Not Eaten" report option do, and can I preview next week's menu?

You can report each dish on its own or report a whole day at once. Besides Liked / Neutral / Disliked, there is a "Not Eaten" option for dishes your baby didn't try. Only dishes you report as actually eaten count as "tried" — so a food's first-introduction allergen reminder stays accurate and won't be cleared by mistake.

🛒 You can also preview next week's menu ahead of time to prepare your shopping. Tap the week switcher's forward arrow to next week and generate it — dishes are assigned based on your baby's actual age next week, so a stage transition is handled correctly.
